Corona Clipper is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality long handle tools and forged pruning. In business for over 80 years, Corona tools are designed and built to be worthy of the Corona tradition of reliability and quality, not just in craftsmanship, but also in customer service, operations and delivery.

Corona's history is tied to the first product manufactured, the AG 5050 Orange Sheer, which are still made today. AG 5050 Orange Sheer tool was formerly called, and still remembered by many, as the "9B Orange Clipper". The 9B Orange Clipper started near Corona in the city of Riverside is linked directly with the citrus industry of U.S.

The focus on field handling of citrus fruits caught the interest of a school teacher in the Riverside area. All of the fruit was harvested by hand and it was literally pulled off of the tree. If the fruit button (where the stem connects to the fruit) was pulled off in the process, this resulted in openings in the skin.

The school teacher’s vision was the first moment of conception for Corona Clipper. He thought that the fruit would retain its button if the fruit could be picked by a cutting tool, instead of being pulled. If the shape of a tool is curved, it could cut the stem right at the button and eliminate stem fragments and the damage caused by the attached stems. The teacher turned his idea into a hand tool that could do what he had envisioned, but he was a school teacher, not an inventor and certainly not a tool maker. So, he made his contribution to the evolution of the citrus industry as a supplier to the world by turning over his idea to the local citrus community.

The tool still needed to be built, and that task was given to a blacksmith working in the back of one of the local citrus packing houses. A blacksmith could do the fine workmanship needed to develop such a small, durable and precise tool. The blacksmith by refining the design he became the supplier to the California citrus industry --- and Corona Clipper was born.
